    Can you give some details?

What were you doing at the time?
How was the table being edited/updated/created/deleted?

The error means that you're attempting to do something to the table, or indeed with some other part of access, that it can't do as the argument being parsed to the internal function is not of the correct type, or does not adhere to some specific requirement that its argument requires... Which is a very vague explanation, but without knowing what it was you were doing, it's hard to say anymore.

    I concur with Kez,

But I have similar issues in the past, check procedures etc to no avail, by pure chance I noticed that the database went into a bit of a frigle state and had balloned in size, a good old compact and repair sorted out the issue, not sure if you have tried that

its almost certainly duff data going into the query
so I'd try to narrow down the affected rows
guessing that the query is sorted in companyID order Id wqant to examine all rows affected by this query for that company.
somewhere out there is duff data.
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
