Unanswered: DB2 Windows 7 64 ODBC connection problem
Hello, can somebody help me with my problem?
The subj. I've installed DB2 9.7 on Windows 7 64 and am trying to connect to it using ODBC. I also created BSTOREDB.
When I'm trying to register it using DB2 Configuration Assistant as a local user data source an error Occurs (CCA3000C, reason code 73)
If I add BSTOREDB as a user data source using ODBC Data Source Administrator, in User DSN tab I'm able to create the one, but I can not connect to it. I get SQL1013N The database alias name or database name "SAMPLE" could not be found. SQLSTATE=42705 (An undefined server-name was detected).
on the server - verify that the instance is enabled for external connections
on client : go to command window (db2cmd)
execute db2 catalog tcpip node ....
db2 catalog db ...
db2 connect ...
and see all messages..
bstoredb and sample ?? same db = alias - .... Configuring TCP/IP communications for a DB2 instance
there are similar pages for clients

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
Spoon feeding : To treat (another) in a way that discourages independent thought or action, as by overindulgence.
