Unanswered: Table spaces shown Backup in process

    Hi All,
Table spaces in my production databse stock in "Backup in process" state while databse is working fine but no backup has been prduced since. I wonder if it is safe to restart the databse. Do you guys have any idea? Is it going to crash the databse if I restart databse?
    Thnks all you replies.

Check list applications to see if there is an application performing a backup. If there is none and you need to clear the tablespace state, restart should do it. You might have to restart the instance, not just the database.

Not if you stop it (database/instance) gracefully.

Thanks for all your replies. There was no backup proudced for a week so I restarted the instance and that made the database and tablespaces back in to normal.
