Unanswered: Linked Servers using odbc driver with progress (merant 3.60)

I don't even know if this is possible or not. I am trying to create a linked server to access progress database. The sql server is 2008 r2 (64 bit version) and progress database is using merant driver 3.60. (32 bit version)

Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "xxx".
OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "xxx" returned message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified". (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303)

I received this error. Even though I specify the dsn.

Product Name: MERANT 3.60 32-BIT PROGRESS
Data Source: xxx (Data source name in odbc administrator)
    Provider: Dsn=xxx;databasename=xxxx;uid=xxxx;pwd=xxxx
    Location: Blank
    Catalog: (Database Name)

    Any idea.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.

Thanks for the reply. At least I know what I am against.
