    Unanswered: Database Security

    Hi,

I have managed to set up database security on my computer - with different users and groups. However, I think the security settings are only on my desktop, as it has not transferred onto other computers on the network. Does anyone know how I do this, or will I have to apply the settings separately on each computer?

    Thanks!

    Faye

you need to force peole to open the applciation with a workgroup security file.
either have a common workgroup file in a central network location and / or force this access file to be opened with a specific workgroup file usign a command line switch deployed on an desktop

thats also why you should not allow user admin any rights to a db, as this is the default user account for any and every access installation that doesn't have a specific workgroup file crearted. its also the default status on some upgrades of office.

Microsoft Access Security FAQ available in the Download Center
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
