    Question Unanswered: unable to take a database backup using compress yes

    db2 backup db sample user db2admin using 123 to d:\backup
    WITH COMPRESS YES throws me an error.

    what is the right command to be used..???

    what is the complete error you get ?

    Have you tried looking up the correct command syntax in the manual?

    Hi Divya There is no need to mention YES for Compress option

    " db2 backup db sample user db2admin using 123 to d:\backup
    WITH COMPRESS " you can issue cmd like this then u will get proper out put

    according to the doc the WITH is not expected
    just backup ... compress
    the doc is always helpfull .. just have a look.... it is for free...
