    Unanswered: a good basic book on MSSQL

    i am anoop and new here and want to know a good on MSSQL which starts from basics and then goes on.i have some knowledge of oracle .now i want to learn basic of mssql like syntax ... triggers/stored procedures/function etc........

    for eg how i would write following code in mssql . is an trigger for inserting values into an another table written in oracle

    Code:
    create trigger <triggername> 
    before delete on <tb1>
    for each row
    begin
    insert into <newtablename> values(:old.column1 , :old.column2...)
    end</triggername>
    please advice thanks

    Some hints on your triggers example:
    - All MSSQL triggers are AFTER
    - All MSSQL triggers are STATEMENT
    - You may obtain a FOR EACH ROW functionality using inserted and deleted tables

    nothinh wrong it just that i cannot remain looged into internet throughout . i can use only for few hours in a day. and for book i can refer it any time i want. this is not possible with internet to me at this stage so please suggest a good book on MSSQL
