    Unanswered: Urgently question about HADR

Plz, could you help me to get these points more clear?

    1. I need to know how takeover can occur automatically in HADR, instead of manually running command ... db2 takeover hard on db by force
(Where the second node automatically be primary just when failure occur in the first node)

Hint: in my environment I have no SAN or even shared resource

    2. According to my information, HADR applied only on each database alone.
(So if I have 30 databases in the instance I should configure HADR on each database alone)
Can I make HADR on instance level instead of on database level?

    Thanks in advance ..

    1. You need cluster manager software, such as Tivoli System Automation, which comes free with DB2. This software is used to detect system problems and issue HADR takeover commands.

    2. No, you cannot set up HADR at the instance level.

I cannot give you a link (try google), but I am fairly sure that it can be setup with or without a shared disk, but in any case, you could easily share it via NFS mount (no SAN required).
