    I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

    so fake the windows messaging service within your application, and say poll that faked service regularly
    OR
    send an email to that person

    If you have a user table, then you could create either a "chat" form or a input box to popup when you've sent a user a message.

    You'd need a table for either option, and a form that is always open (such as a switchboard) to set up a timer event to show the message when the user is "online".

    Just open It BUT make it Hidden

    DoCmd.OpenForm "POPIT", acNormal, , , , acHidden

    you need to set the Timer Interval

    then in the Time bit of that form

    write the Code to full the form and them do a
    Me.Visible = True

    have a close bottom all that does is me.visible = false

    remeber to set the status in the table so that the user does not see the same message after he/she has read it
    hope this help

    See clear as mud
