    Unanswered: Passwordless db2 login ??

Do we have a s solution for database shell script running on Client to login and retrieve snapshots from Server ??

    Or there may some work-around.

For an instance, I have an admin client on machine A (aix 5.3 DB2 9.1). My script wants to retrive hitratios on Server B (aix 5.3 DB2 9.1 ESE). When connecting to database on Server B in the script, it allows me to connect only when I specify or enter password.

I think Oracle has password file for this purpose, does DB2 has such feature or workaround ?

    Please help,
    DBFinder

Try AUTHENTICATION CLIENT, but be wary of the consequences.

    Thanks,

I can TRY this in my test lab. I am sure my employer will not allow this.

I wanted to learn if anything passwordless similar to ssh keys that may be acceptable to corporate sites.

    Regards

DB2 does not authenticate anyone, it delegates the task to the OS, either on the server or on the client. An alternative would be to write your own security plugin - the process is well documented.
