    Unanswered: Scheduling Jobs

    does microsoft SQL server 2008 express edition support scheduling of jobs?

    if not then what alternative Database i can use to support job scheduling, will MySQL help, or ORACLE................i cannot afford to buy the database software, either i can go for free version or open source.

    what i want to achieve is to send mails to all users automatically every month, so how can that be achieved?

    SQL Server Express editions do not offer a way to either schedule jobs or maintenance plans since SQL Server Agent component is not included with these editions. Hence you need to take a different approach.

    You can create batch file and schedule it through windows task scheduler.
    // filename.bat

    sqlcmd -S .\EXPRESS E -Q " your query"

    Schedule a job using Windows Task Scheduler to execute this batch file created above.
