    Unanswered: Split database

    Hello,

At work I maintain a database which is shared between about 20 users. After some googling I've found that it's a good idea to split the database. Problem is not all users have the same mapped letter drive, will that matter?

    Not necessarily:

    1. Each user must have a copy of the front-end installed on his/her PC (i.e. the front-end is not shared nor used from a central location).

    2. It's possible to use UNC's (Universal Naming Convention: \\Server\Share\Database.mdb) to specify the back-end database that consequently does not depend on a logical drive.
    Have a nice day!

The good thing about using. The VNC
What the user can't see they can not delete

What I do is create a folder on C called screens put the FE there and create a hidden shear call DATA$ and put the BE (data) there
