    Thumbs up Unanswered: Loosing the DB connection on compilation of the package

    I have 2 environments DEV and TEST both are on 2 different linux boxes.
    The moment i compile a package i am loosing the database connection,it does not give any error but the database gets stopped.
    The same package gets compiled in the DEV.
    Please help.

    DB2 version: 9.7.4
    OS : linux

    can you be more specific
    : compile a package ?? you mean create a stored proc - external package ???
    : db gets stopped ?? you mean the instance ?? check diag.log
    publish more details so we can try to understand what is going on

    I am trying to compile a package which has a number or procedures in it.
    The moment i compile the package on TEST the instance gets stopped, but the same package gets properly compiled and works good in the DEV

    what is indicated in diag.log - do you need to execute db2start ?

    i compile through the db2 command prompt after issuing db2 -td!

    yes i need to execute db2start command because the connection will be lost with out any errors.

    check diag.log for errors at that time and see what it indicates as hint..

    an FODC_TRAP file is getting created and looks like there is some crash recovery process taking place..

    will FODC process take place because of any mistakes done during installation or setting up the instance and the schema???

    maybe - should be analyzed .. pd/psi
    have a look at messages before the trap to identify the cause of the trap..
