    Unanswered: Controls locked on Split Form after Access Update

    I have a split form in an Access 2007 mdb. It has a combination of bound and unbound controls. I cannot enter into any of the unbound controls until I first enter into one of bound controls.

    This behavior goes away when I set the form to Single Form.

    This behavior started when I updated to MS Access 12.0.6535.5005 from 12.0.6211.1000. I this was included with Office 2007 SP2.

    I first discovered it while running the db on another PC with an updated version of access. When I returned to my own PC the problem went away. The problem returned after I updated my own PC.

    How can I enter an unbounded control right after loading the form?

    Workaround

    txtSerial was the control giving me trouble. This addition "fixed" it. I still don't understand what the issue was.

    Code:
    Private Sub Form_Load()
    Me![txtSerial].SetFocus
    End Sub
    After I enter information in the field I have to select a bound field or click on the datasheet attached to the split form. I can of course manually reset the focus, but this doesn't seem right.

    Better Solution

    I changed

    Code:
    Me.RecordSource = strSQL
    Me.Refresh
    to

    Code:
    Me.RecordSource = strSQL
    Me.Requery
    I still don't understand why an Access update would lead to this...
