    Unanswered: SQL1585N A system temporary table space with sufficient page size does not exist.

    I am getting the following error while executing a query.

    SQL1585N A system temporary table space with sufficient page size does not exist.

    We have a System temp tablespace created with 32k page size:

    Tablespace ID = 14
    Name = STEMP32K
    Type = System managed space
    Contents = System Temporary data
    State = 0x0000
    Detailed explanation:
    Normal
    Total pages = 1
    Useable pages = 1
    Used pages = 1
    Free pages = Not applicable
    High water mark (pages) = Not applicable
    Page size (bytes) = 32768
    Extent size (pages) = 32
    Prefetch size (pages) = 32
    Number of containers = 1

    Is there any way to execute the same query without reducing the number of columns?

    Thanks.

    If the width of the result set is wider than 32K, then you are SOL.

    Thanks..

    Just checked, the resultset is indeed more than 32k..

    On further analysis, I found that the query with resultset more than 32000 length can be executed in DB2.
    But if the query requires sorting(order by clause), then it uses the system temporary tablespace and hence it will give the error.
