    ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 1 - see DBWR trace file

    Hi Guys, I am having a problem as follows:

    I got the following error from the trace file:

    Code:
    ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 1 - see DBWR trace file
    ORA-01110: data file 1: '/data/oradata/pfs/o1_mf_system_12qcksmh_.dbf'
    ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
    SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory
    Additional information: 3
    ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 2 - see DBWR trace file
    ORA-01110: data file 2: '/data/oradata/pfs/o1_mf_undo_tbs_12qclj2m_.dbf'
    ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
    SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory
    Is it possible to recover these data files ? I have checked the disk and confirmed that these files are missing from the database..

    Hi,

    should not be a problem, just use RMAN to restore and recover the latest backup:

    $ rman target /
    RMAN> restore database;
    RMAN> recover database;
    RMAN> alter database open resetlogs;

    that's it.

    Much more worrying is the fact that your datafiles are "disappearing" ...

    That's assuming that you have been running in archive log mode.
