    Unanswered: Relationship help

    Hi all,

    I have fairly little experience with databases, but the experience I do have - hasn't been pleasant .

    I have 2 tables (well I have more but that's irrelevant right now), table Employee and table Branch. What I want is to, to have a number of branches defined in the Branch table. So, when I create an employee, I have a drop down list for "Branch" and can select the appropriate branch.

    Currently, my database does not work like this (correctly) and I think the relationship is setup the wrong way around, although I can't figure out a way to reverse it.

    Currently, I have to create an employee going through the Branch table, it's quite odd, here is a screenshot:

    Like I say, I think this is wrong, but I can't figure out a way to reverse it.

    Any help is much appreciated

    your relationship is fine

    each employee belongs to only one branch, yes?

    You're right, i managed to wake up and sort it within minutes (after spending all night on it)

    I spent all night trying to resolve something which turned out to be an issue with Access on my computer. What I was looking for was the "look up wizard", which was giving me an error on my computer although fortunately works fine on my laptop
