Agile Database Development - real world experience

Just wondering what the word on the DBA Street is about this as it's just flipped my career due to me making negative noises about this and sidestepping a compulsory Re-Education programme.

The only Blogs I can find on the subject seem to be written by App Devs who don't really understand Data Dev Considerations.

You're gonna have to give us more info...

BUT: It'a ALL about the data, it has ALWAYS been all about the data, and it will ALWAYS be about the data

The physical order of data in a database has no meaning.

Agile? I ignore it. We are a Agile shop and our VP is some old M$ dude brought here to impliment it, but due to the nature of the free firezone I live in, and the fact we do 1 week sprints, I get by dealing with emergencies and doing the hero thing and leaving the backlog for the kids.

BUT AGILE IS THE ART OF MAKING EXCUSES BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TALENT AND RESOURCES TO GET THE JOB DONE.

“If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.
