Unanswered: Tool using MS Excel and Sybase

    Hi,

I am pretty new to Sybase. Can you please give me some idea on creating a simple utility tool using MS Excel and Sybase database? Which will be useful for the people who do not want to dig into a particular database, but can get certain information about the tables, procs and views in the database.

    Try this

In Start Settings --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Data Sources (ODBC), in one of the DSN tabs (I use System DSN), ADD and configure you Sybase Driver.

This will make it visible when you do Data --> Import External Data... in Excel.

I have tried that already. Have written some VBA code also. I can see the data from the tables inside MS Excel by creating a macro. I am getting stuck in calling a system procedure of sybase. e.g. sp_depends. I am not being able to get the above proc run from excel. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
