    Question Unanswered: How to get the date format in "MMddyyyy" format?

    Hi,

    I have a query in Java which I need to replicate in a SP. The java logic is
    Code:
    if (retTheatre != null) {
    	if (showDate == null) {
    	showDate = Utils.getDate(0, "MMddyyyy");
    	}
    }
    what it does is to get the current date in MMddYYYY format. While I found that in informix, the date function if called as below:

    Code:
    select current from systables where tabid=1;
    returns the result as :
    2012-03-05 16:12:44
    But I need the result to be just,
    03052012
    Could someone help me pl? I tried googling this, but dint find a proper answer anywhere...

    The answer is to leave formatting and display issues to your front-end application; be that a report writer such as Crystal Reports or a programming language such as PHP or C#

    Hi George,

    Thanks that was solved by the front end team. They have agreed to send and format the response date variable in that format at their end. It will be done in grxml. Thank you 4 your efforts.
