Smile Unanswered: Zipping a backup a file.

    Hi,
I am taking automatic backup in sql2005 (OS - windows server 2003). I am manually zipping that file (compressing) and sending it into another windows server 2003. server. I could have transferred directly but due to memory in disk problem, I have to zip the file before i put it into another server.

I would love to get it done automatically. So, my ques is Can we zip a file automatically in windows server and send it to another server.

P.s = writing any scripts like shell scripts by synchronizing with windows or ny any other way. No use of tool(s) else using SSIS, it'spossible.

    Thanks a lot in advance

I am scheduling in sql server. If i create a bat file, would i be able to do it? Let me know if it is possible. To be precise, Let me know hw it can be done. Taking back up is the second priority and I guess there are many ways to take back ups..
