    Unanswered: Adding DB2 instance to global registry.

    Hi All
    We are completing SAP installation for few Linux DB2 9.7.0.4 systems.
    And we have la problem with global registry during clustering.
    We performed all instalations on first node except one system RA1 that was installed after go-live on second node.
    Now we need to alter /var/db2/global.reg on first node and add this last system and then copy global.reg to second node.
    Here there is db2greg -dump:
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2SYSTEM,lx-00101,/home/db2rbp/db2_software,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2FCMCOMM,TCPIP4,/home/db2rbp/db2_software,
    S,DB2,9.7.0.4,/db2/db2rbp/db2_software,,,4,0,,1324124688,1
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2SYSTEM,lx-00101,/db2/db2rbp/db2_software,
    I,DB2,9.7.0.4,db2rbp,/db2/db2rbp/sqllib,,1,0,/db2/db2rbp/db2_software,,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2INSTDEF,db2rbp,/db2/db2rbp/db2_software,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2FCMCOMM,TCPIP4,/db2/db2rbp/db2_software,
    I,DB2,9.7.0.4,db2rep,/db2/db2rep/sqllib,,1,0,/db2/db2rep/db2_software,,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2INSTDEF,db2rep,/db2/db2rep/db2_software,
    S,DB2,9.7.0.4,/db2/db2rep/db2_software,-,,4,0,,1324306517,1
    S,DB2,9.7.0.4,/db2/db2rpp/db2_software,,,4,0,,1324568366,1
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2SYSTEM,lx-00101,/db2/db2rpp/db2_software,
    I,DB2,9.7.0.4,db2rpp,/db2/db2rpp/sqllib,,1,0,/db2/db2rpp/db2_software,,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2INSTDEF,db2rpp,/db2/db2rpp/db2_software,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2FCMCOMM,TCPIP4,/db2/db2rpp/db2_software,
    S,DB2,9.7.0.4,/db2/db2ra2/db2_software,,,4,0,,1329832835,1
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2SYSTEM,lx-00101,/db2/db2ra2/db2_software,
    I,DB2,9.7.0.4,db2ra2,/db2/db2ra2/sqllib,,1,0,/db2/db2ra2/db2_software,,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2INSTDEF,db2ra2,/db2/db2ra2/db2_software,
    V,DB2GPRF,DB2FCMCOMM,TCPIP4,/db2/db2ra2/db2_software,
    S,DB2,9.7.0.4,/db2/db2ra1/db2_software,-,,4,0,,1329405819,1
    I,DB2,9.7.0.4,db2ra1,/db2/db2ra1/sqllib,,1,0,/db2/db2ra1/db2_software,,
    We succesfully added Service and Instance entries (last two lines) but when we are trying to add folllowing Variables:
    service=DB2GPRF,variable=DB2SYSTEM,value=lx-00101,installpath=/db2/db2ra1/db2_software
    service=DB2GPRF,variable=DB2INSTDEF,value=db2ra1,i nstallpath=/db2/db2ra1/db2_software
    service=DB2GPRF,variable=DB2FCMCOMM,value=TCPIP4,i nstallpath=/db2/db2ra1/db2_software
    we got following error:

    [root@lx-00101 bin]# ./db2greg -addvarrec service=DB2GPRF,variable=DB2INSTDEF,value=db2ra1,i nstallpath=/db2/db2ra1/db2_software
    Error encountered during the Add record action: Duplicate record detected
    I know that db2greg shouldn't be normally used but i think there is the only solution for our problem. Or maybe there is another way to update global.reg ?

    Can you explain what kind of cluster this is? Also, is it possible to just issue the db2set command on the other server? (my assumption is that the global registery variables you are talking about can be set with db2set, but not 100% sure I understand what you need to do).

    Why don't you just use db2set to update those variables?

    This is Veritas Cluster Server. Two nodes and during failover fs are remounted from first to second node then db2 services are started.
    Yes, now i know that variables could be set using db2set -g XXXXX my fault or lack of knowledge
