    Unanswered: question for upgrade for 10.2.0.5

    Hi all,

    I am bit confuse:

    I have created new instance with oracle 10G 10.2.0.5 on linux server.

    I have old server with instance on oracle 10.2.0.4..

    now the vendor wants me to clone the old to new server and then do the upgrade?

    how can i do it now? Please guide!!

    hi,

    will this work:

    bakcup controlfile with trace:

    copy all datafile, bdump, adump, and other files to new location

    run @db_create.sql

    then startup in migrate:

    run catpatch sql

    run utlrp.sql?

    how about full export with system and then import to 10.2.0.5 and then utlrp

    how about an rman duplicate, which is made to make a duplicate database.
