    Unanswered: Cascading combo box problems

    Hello!
    I have a problem creating two cascading combo boxes. I will try to explain.
    My database contains 3 tables;

    table Capture
    captureID
    placeID
    ...and lots of other fields for registering different measurements on birds

    table Area
    areaID
    area

    table Place
    placeID
    place
    areaID

    Now, I'm creating a form based on the capture table where one would type in the different measurements, and here's the problem: choose which place the bird was captured. I want to be able to first choose the Area from a combo box and then the Place combo box to be updated to show only those places in that Area.
    However, I also want the Area combo box to show the respecting Area on the previous records on the form as well (when i go back and forth between different records on the form). I can't understand how to do that since the AreaID is not in the capture table. Since the place table is linked to the capture and area tables I thought this would be easy, but alas.

    Any help is appreciated

    relate the places and areas together using a query.

    the record of captures has a place, and each place has an area.
