    Unanswered: aix recreate instance

    I've dropped instance db2inst1 on db2 V9.1 aix. When I recreated the instance I can not access my database. I know that I have to catalog it, but I do not know how. (db2 catalog database db_name didn't help). The error that i get is: SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system.
    SQLSTATE=58031

    Can you help me please?

    you have to know where the db was created before
    execute
    db2 catalog db xx on /xx/yy

    Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.

    You first need to catalog the node where as remote and then catalog the database, u can try below:

    catalog TCPIP NODE examp REMOTE 10.170.12.123 SERVER port
    catalog database dbname as name_u_want AT NODE examp AUTHENTICATION SERVER.

    Hope this will help u.
