I am building a flat file in excel to be imported into Access and each column is sourced from a seperate tab (in Excel) until at which point I do some further manipulation to get rid of decimal points (also in Excel) in a tab with all columns. Call that the consolidated file. For each of the tabs containing the single columns I copy (from another source) and paste large amounts of data that is in multiple columns. When I do the cut and paste to put those data into the single column I loose my referenced value in the consolidated file (i.e. the consolidated file now contains for example #REF where there once was a valid cell reference). Is there any way to lock that cell reference? I've tried anchoring with $ signs and also locking/protecting the cell but I continue to get an invalid reference. Would very much appreciate help on this matter.
