    Unanswered: Ping Failed error message

Hope I find you well guys on this forum. I am working on windows vista and I need to connect my eclipse based design studio to a db2 database. Both the db2 server and the design studio are installed on my client machine. After putting my connection properties, I am getting the error message "Ping failed"

    The connection string is "jdbc:db2://localhost:50001/WAREHSE"

The details of the error are as follows

org.eclipse.datatools.connectivity.exceptions.DBNo tStartException: No start database command was issued. ErrorCode = -4499, SQLState = 08001.
