Angry Unanswered: Problem refreshing subform list

My subform contains list of records. Within it's main form's menu, I can click to add new record which will open up another form to add record. Once the fields are typed and the form closed, I'm returned to the original form, and I can't get the record lists in the subform to refresh.

I've tried on both OnCurrent and OnFocus
    1. forms![MainForm]![Subform].Refresh and forms![MainForm]![Subform].Requery --- no luck
    2. tried setting focus to one of my field, Forms![Mainform]![AnyField].SetFocus, then do above step 1 --- no luck

Nearly spent entire day trying out various combinations without any luck. Only thing working is to close the form then reopen, and it gets refreshed. I don't recall having this problem with Access97, but this Access2007 is driving me nuts. Any advice (besides get drunk)? Thanks.

Try calling the form directly, or at least not using "!"

    Form_frmYourMainForm.subYourSubFormName.Requery

I didn't know you could call the form directly.
I'm an old timer of Access97 just started Access2007 last week.
    IT WORKS!
    Thank you.
