    Unanswered: high water mark

    db2 ese 9.5 fp8 on p/linux
a partitioned table and each data partition has a specific tablespace
global indexes also in dedicated ts (part. index not available in 9.5)
    used pages = 5M
detach partition - drop table - add partition (new range)
all pages have become free (used pages=160) but the hwm is still 5M
in 9.5 you can not reorg a partition and we can not reorg the complete table
any other method to reclaim these pages ?

I believe that the it is hard to reduce HWM in 9.5 because DB2 stores some spacemap (or similar info) at the end of the tablespace. In 9.7 (for newly created tablespaces) they moved it to the beginning of tablespace, so HWM can easily be reduced.

In DB2 9.5 and earlier you can use db2dart /LHWM (if I remember the switch name correctly) to move allocated extents, including the space map, and reduces the HWM.

thanks "n_i" for the answer but db2dart does not support partitioned tables
I will try to change our script :
detach part - drop ts - create ts - add part..
