Job Title: SharePoint Systems Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: Contract to Perm with 5 option years rate is 115k-125k
Clearance: Able to obtain a Public Trust/ Can hold Secret or Top Secret
Candidate will work as part of a SharePoint engineering team responsible for engineering and operations of multiple production and pre-production SharePoint 2007 and 2010 farms. Candidate will be required to engineer SharePoint and integrated infrastructure solutions based on complex technical requirements from development teams. Must have excellent technical skills, with strong knowledge of current technologies, and must continually learn emerging technologies.
Candidate will provide recommendations for infrastructure and topological design based on SharePoint best practices to development teams to ensure the performance, scalability and stability of the farm, as well as perform all farm-level administration for development, test, and production farms. Tasks to be performed include: proactive problem management and identification of potential issues, 24x7 monitoring, backup and recovery, capacity and performance planning and management, preventative maintenance, diagnosing complex issues, and working with numerous technology disciplines in troubleshooting activities.
3-5 years SharePoint Systems Engineering experience.
5-7 years SharePoint Administration experience.
More than 10 years of progressive Systems Administration experience.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex enterprise level SharePoint systems issues and outages.
Demonstrated experience with SharePoint farm-level systems administration, including the deployment of solution files, SSP configuration and maintenance, and web application and site collection creation and maintenance.
Experience in enterprise-level Windows OS, serer builds, and infrastructure, including domain controllers, AD, OUs, DNS, Kerberos, VLANs, networking, firewalls, etc.
Configuring and supporting IIS.
Managing and troubleshoot SSPs, Search Service, Forms Services, Excel Services.
Experience applying cumulative updates, service packs, hot fixes, etc.
Able to review custom SharePoint application design documentation, perform code reviews, and provide recommendations to development teams and management based on Microsoft Architecture and Infrastructure Best Practices.
Able to communicate effectively with development teams, business owners, and team members.
Able to write organized and detailed technical documentation required as part of the SDLC process.
A strong work ethic with a customer focus on quality and results.
Ability to work well under pressure and within defined processes.
PowerShell scripting for automated SharePoint installation and maintenance.
Migrating SharePoint farms from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010.
Provisioning and managing Virtual Servers in VMWare 4.x and 5.x.
Project Server integration into a SharePoint farm, and administration.
SharePoint Designer, InfoPath forms, Web parts.
Experience with forms-based authentication, Federated Technologies.
SQL Server administration.
Microsoft Business Intelligence tools such as SQL Server Analysis, Integration, and Reporting Services.
Experience with FISMA and federal government security requirements.
Certifications in SharePoint and other Microsoft technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
