Unanswered: How can I make sure that only one instance of a stored proc is running

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to confirm that only one occurrence of a Oracle stored proc is running at a particular time. Any suggestions ?

Change the design to avoid having such a silly "requirement".
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

Do you mean "the procedure can be executed only by one session at a given time, while other sessions must wait ?"
If yes, then some serialization stuff can be used - for example the procedure can lock some table or some record in a given table at the beginning,
then unlock the table/record at the end - other session will wait trying to lock the same table/record until the first "instance" of the procedure will finish.
