Unanswered: I want to learn oracle

    Hello,
I want to learn oracle. But problem is there are too many types of tutorials on youtube and net. I don't understand which are for me.

I want to develop database application that will run shops, small companies generating reports, memos etc.
Please suggest me some training materials from setting up the environment to creating successful applications.

    Thanks in advance.

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

Exactly what is mentioned above. The YouTube videos (I've seen them ALL!!!) are grabage. Some are decent like the RMAN videos but honestly you really need to dedicate a few hours to just downloading & installing Oracle yourself. Use the manual as a reference and Google for everything else. Once you get Oracle 11g installed on your O.S. of choice...then you simply learn hands on from there. Very simple process. Chances are if you have a question or get stuck, someone has encountered this issue before and it's somewhere on Google.

    Good luck!
