    Unanswered: Make Table Format

    Hello There

Can you create a blank make table where the columns are formatted to date rather than text

Does a make table default to text when no data is in it?

I want my make table to not have to be manually changed every time I have no data in it.

I have also trying to append into the make table, and it still converts everything into text

    Thanks
    Helen

What do you mean with "Make Table", a Make Table Query?

In a make table query you can specify any valid data type for each column:
    Code:
        Const c_SQLCreate = "CREATE TABLE Tbl_Properties ( " & _
                                    "[SysCounter] COUNTER (1,1) PRIMARY KEY, " & _
                                    "[Property_Name] TEXT(50) , " & _
                                    "[Property_Type] LONG, " & _
                                    "[Property_BultIn] LOGICAL );"

        CurrentDb.Execute c_SQLCreate, dbFailOnError
The most usual types are: LOGICAL, BYTE, INTEGER, LONG, CURRENCY, SINGLE, DOUBLE, DATE, COUNTER, TEXT, MEMO
    Have a nice day!
