Question Convert XML to UML Diagram or SQL, possible?

    Hello everyone!

    I need some help.

    I need to:
    1) Convert a XML file to SQL code (build the DataBase code of that XML)
    or
    2) Convert a XML file to UML diagrams (class diagrams).

Is that theoretical possible? is there a way to do that automatically?
Build a database (SQL code) from an unique XML file?

    Thanks!

As far as I know, the answer to both questions boils down to "it depends."

If your XML is an export from a relational datbase designer/manager, then certainly. In that case the data itself would be a valid relational structure, and could be easily processed.

If that isn't the case, then the question becomes harder to answer. Hard to solve problems generally tend to get "no" as answers.

If you post enough details, then I'm pretty sure that someone here can help you answer the question.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.

The XML file i am talking about is an archetype.
    (Download here: Clinical Knowledge Manager)

It's a big and hard to read\understand file.

    Archetype example: http://al29870.no.sapo.pt/clinical_synopsis.v1.xml

I also have acess to the XML schema if necessary.

I already tried a lot of several softwares to try to convert, but none did it the right way (so far).

Is there any chance of a software that convert this xml into a SQL database?

    Thanks!
