    Unanswered: unable to start db2cc

    Hi

    I have just installed the latest db2 version on lunixx64.
    I couldnt manage to start db2cc. Any ideas ?

    [db2inst1@db bin]$ db2cc
    -bash: db2cc: command not found

    [db2inst1@db bin]$ db2
    (c) Copyright IBM Corporation 1993,2007
    Command Line Processor for DB2 Client 10.1.0

    You can issue database manager commands and SQL statements from the command
    prompt. For example:
    db2 => connect to sample
    db2 => bind sample.bnd

    For general help, type: ?.
    For command help, type: ? command, where command can be
    the first few keywords of a database manager command. For example:
    ? CATALOG DATABASE for help on the CATALOG DATABASE command
    ? CATALOG for help on all of the CATALOG commands.

    To exit db2 interactive mode, type QUIT at the command prompt. Outside
    interactive mode, all commands must be prefixed with 'db2'.
    To list the current command option settings, type LIST COMMAND OPTIONS.

    For more detailed help, refer to the Online Reference Manual.

    db2 => connect to sample

    Database server = DB2/LINUXX8664 10.1.0
    SQL authorization ID = DB2INST1
    Local database alias = SAMPLE

    Control Center has been discontued in 10.1. You can download Data Studio for free from IBM website. Most people run Data Studio from Windows, even when adminstering a remote Linux server, but I believe there is a Linux GUI version also.

    Do you recommend using Data Studio on windows client to manage db2 databases which are on linux platform ?

    I need access to about 100 different databases running on various Linux servers, so if I am going to use a GUI tool, it is easier to use it remotely from a single copy of Data Studio running on my Windows desktop PC with visability into all my remote databases. I used Control Center the same way.
