I need help with my Access Query. I have 2 tables of data (account number and amount) run from different sources so I need to compare by account number to see if the amounts differ. I have both tables in my query joined by account number since all accounts are in each file, and both amount columns added for results. Under one amount column criteria I put this:
<>[table A name].[table A amount column name] So I want the one amount column from Table A to show me which amounts from table B's amount column do not equal it. But what I get is a complete list of all accounts and totals and I can clearly see it is showing me the ones that equal as well as the ones that don't. What am I doing wrong?
Nevermind, I figured it out. Instead of adding a criteria to one of the amount columns, I added another column with this input: DIFF: [SumOfAmountA]-[SumOfAmountB] then under criteria I have <-0.01 Or >0.01 and it came out with my 3 mismatched records!
