Do you know if "db2licm -r" is a valid command to remove an expired license?
It doesn't work:
$ db2licm -l
Product name: "DB2 Workgroup Server Edition"
License type: "Restricted"
Expiry date: "Permanent"
Product identifier: "db2wse"
Version information: "9.7"
Max number of Value Units: "480"
Max amount of memory (GB): "4"
$ db2licm -r db2consv
LIC1417N The license specified could not be removed from the nodelock file. The return code is "-216". Check that the license for this product exists in the nodelock file.
I know how to get around this error and remove it, but I'd like to know if this command is supposed to work or not. Has anyone been able to remove an expired license using -r option or this option is only to remove a non-expired one?
why would you like to remove the license - just load a valid license

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
