    Unanswered: MySQL Alert Files

    hi,
    Im very new to mysql. I could successfully configure a mysql replication in Linux. Now i need to monitor this system continuously. But I don't know what are the log files i should check. (in oracle we have alert_DBNAME.log file) Can u please guide me on this ?

    You will have to check in the /etc/my.cnf or /etc/mysql/my.cnf file which consists of the MySQL servers configuration. One parameter called err-log indicates the error log of the server.

    err-log=/var/lib/mysql/mysqld.log
