    Unanswered: Query

    In db2inst1
    I connected to sample db
    db2 backup db sample online
    ls
    SAMPLE.0.db2inst1.NODE0000.CATN0000.20120630210554 .001 is generated
    scp SAMPLE.0.db2inst1.NODE0000.CATN0000.20120630210554 .001 db2inst2@localhost:



    in db2inst2(the following erros I am not able to solve please provide solution)
    db2 "restore db sample taken at 20120630210554 on /home/db2inst2 into redirect"
    db2 connect to sample
    SQL1117N A connection to or activation of database "SAMPLE" cannot be made
    because of ROLL-FORWARD PENDING. SQLSTATE=57019

    db2 "rollforward db sample to end of logs and complete"
    SQL4970N Roll-forward recovery on database "SAMPLE" cannot reach the
    specified stop point (end-of-log or point-in-time) on database partition(s)
    "0". Roll-forward recovery processing has halted on log file "S0000003.LOG".

    Why don't you try an offline backup and restore without rollong forward. That will be easier, since you are not a DBA.

    Hai Marcus_A i want to become db2 dba that's why i am practicing like that please help to me

    Extract the logs from the backup image and use them during rollforward
