    Unanswered: Retention Policy for RMAN

    Hello Masters,

    I have configured the RMAN backups for my production database.Everything looks fine and is operable, only thing that is paining is the Retention Policy for Full, Incremental and Archive Log backups. I need different retention period for all these backups. If I :

    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY n;

    All the backups have same retention period/copies. Is there any way to set different policy.

    Please help.

    Best Regards,
    Krishna.

    RMAN is a wonderful tool that should left alone to get on with protecting your database/s.

    Why do you want/feel the need to mess about with it?
    90% of users' problems can be resolved by punching them - the other 10% by switching off their PCs.
