get your popcorn ready, dbdebunk is planning a revival

    fabian pascal has announced:

    > We would like to alert you to our intention to revamp and revive the
    > site. We are working on a new layout with better design and
    > accessibility, and cleaning and revising the old material, in
    > preparation for new material.
    >
    > Its focus will remain data fundamentals, and it will still be
    > critical of fallacies and misconceptions, but with a more corrective,
    > educational bent, less personal and strident and societal issues not
    > directly related to the technical specifics.

lord love a duck, i sincerely hope he follows through on the "less personal and strident" promise

i know that several of us here have been shafted by him in the past, and will be interested in these developments

It's welcome news if it is coming back. There are so few consistently reliable sources of information around nowadays and so much rubbish to wade through, both online and in print. I really don't envy anyone who is trying to educate themselves about database management today.

I've certainly said things in the past which I now know deserved to be debunked but never were. And I've learnt a lot of good stuff from Fabian's books, articles and his site, which I still find myself referring to and recommending.

    Fabian....good lord.
Do you suppose it would be possible to get him a discussion with Certus (The "Associative Model" gut with all the geometric diagrams and the constant name-dropping)?
I might pay to see that entertainment.

Looks like that is a debate that will never happen.
