    Unanswered: DB2 migrate db error

I have restored a backup from db2 v9.1 to db2 v9.5 and after that i tried to connect the db.

    [db2inst1@localhost ~]$ db2 connect to TEST
SQL5035N The database requires migration to the current release.
    SQLSTATE=55001

    [db2inst1@localhost ~]$ db2 migrate db TEST user db2admin using *****
    SQL0902C A system error (reason code = " Migration DMS rc=860f000a: openOld")
occurred. Subsequent SQL statements cannot be processed. SQLSTATE=58005

    [db2inst1@localhost ~]$

Please any idea to resolve this error?

The DB2 documentation for a particular errror number will almost always tell you how to resolve the problem. Try it.

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.

    1. First we dropped the db and restored again and at output we got following error.
    ...
    RESTORE DATABASE TEST CONTINUE
SQL2519N The database was restored but the restored database was not migrated
to the current release. Error "-902" with tokens " Migration DMS rc=860f000a:
    openOld " is returned.

2.Then i tried to run db2ckmig on TEST

    [db2inst2@localhost vashi]$ db2ckmig TEST -l TEST.log -u db2inst1 -p ****

db2ckmig was unsuccessful. Please look at logfile for more details.

    [db2inst2@localhost vashi]$ cat TEST.log
Version of DB2CKMIG being run: VERSION 9.5.

    Database: 'TEST'

    ** ERROR **

The db2ckmig command must be issued on the downlevel instance prior to migrating the instance.

So, which part of this sentence confuses you?

What's logged in the db2diag.log when migrate/restore fails with "SQL0902C A system error (reason code = " Migration DMS rc=860f000a: openOld")"?

    What's your v9.5 FP level?
