    Unanswered: Select ..into Permanent Table


    How do I create a new permanent table from the results of a select statment.
    Please advise.

    You can use the "SAMEAS tablename" to create an external table if you have IDS >= 11.50 xC6, but this won't work for a normal table :-(

    A dynamic stored procedure could help in your case, where you pass the source table name and target table name as arguments, and use systables and syscolumns to copy the table schema, then insert into target select * from source .

    Not done in 5 minutes, but can be done...
