    Post Unanswered: Difference between... (homework)

¿What is the difference between SQL, SQL Server, Transact SQL and PL/SQL?

I know, it sounds like an stupid question because they are very different things therefore i think they cannot be compared, but my teacher asked this for homework.

    Thanks for your help.

It may be a bad question, but knowing the difference between them all will save you the trouble that gamal01 has around post 12 in this thread:

This may be an over simplification, but for your question, i believe one answer could be:

    SQL is a language.
T-SQL (Transact) and PL/SQL are product specific extensions to SQL.
SQL Server is a Database Management System.
