Search the db2diag.log file contents for clues.
Also specify which operating system you are using, and its version, and whether 32-bit or 64-bit.

    Hi przytula,

    db2set -all
    "[i] DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS=NO"
    db2set DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS=
    db2 terminate

There is no variable with that name

After googling(You did) the error i found that the error came due to the reason dat the variable value might be of NO.
I have tried to start the DB2 default instance in the services
there are two service dependencis for that instance one is on and the other is not
    available wich is server smb1.xxx

can you be more specific - we don't see your screen
    smb1.xxx : samba ??
    which variable ??
try to start the instance from command line and check diaglog for errors
find the diaglog location as indicated in doc (online or pdf books)
