    Unanswered: Access 2000 query

I am having trouble with a simple query.
The database only has 2 fields
    1 PaymentDate
    2 AmountPaid

I need to run a query that ask for starting date and Total Amount Desired

when run, the query should select only PaymentDate greater than or equal to the starting date and sum(AmountPaid) until it reaches Total Amount Desired.

I am not able to get it to stop when it reaches "Total Amount Desired", the report always goes from starting date to the end of file.

    Welcome to the forum.

Hate to burst the bubble, but you can't do that in a query. If you want it done, you will have to open the table in VBA (make sure you index it by date, and by any other criteria that are necessary) and make a Do loop. Of course, you need to make the appropriate variables to hold the accumulated values.

Use the Help file; it's the best there is!

No wonder I couldn't get it to work.

    Thanks for your fast reply,
