    Unanswered: Roll forward error

    Hello guys,

I'm trying to restore database from a backup. This backup was taken from db2 V9.1. And now i want to restore this backup in db2 V9.7 which i'm currently using. I fired below queries for restoration :

    1. db2 "restore db panprod from /home/inst1/ImageDB/"

    2. db2 "restore db panprod from /home/inst1/ImageDB/ to /db2home/dbs/ into panprod logtarget /db2backup/BACKUP/Images/panprod/13-08-2012/ with 2 buffers buffer 4096 parallelism 2"

But i got below error both the time.

SQL2547N The database was not restored because the backup image is from a previous release and requires rollforward recovery.

So can anyone please help me out of this ?

    Thanks in advance.....

You can only use an offline backup image to migrate the database to a higher DB2 version. Yours appears to be an online backup, which, after restoration, requires a rollforward operation, and that is not possible due to the differences in log record formats between the DB2 versions.
