Unanswered: DB2 SQL Replication Capture Range Partitioned tables

    Hi All

We are trying to replicate the data from range partitioned table (RPT) to target tables. DB2 V9.5.8 and capture v9.5.8 are the current versions. All our databases are defined under single instance.

It is specified in the documentation that Capture v 9.7 fixpack 2 can access v 9.5 table and allows replication from RPT table

Could anyone please share inputs on how we can achieve this.

Is it possible to have a new instance v 9.7 installed and enable the capture on that (no impact to v 9.5 databases). Would this capture be able to access the control tables defined in v 9.5 database.

Request anyone to please throw some light here as I am new to replication.

    Thanks a lot in anticipation.

capture process is always local to the db
if v9.5 and v9.7 exist : capture must be started for each instance
control server can be located as needed
look in info center and follow
Replication and event publishing > SQL replication > Configuring > Configuring servers for SQL replication > Creating control tables for SQL replication
there is no direct link available
try to read first about sql replication as you should understand these operations and how to handle this before jumping into this .....

    Thank you for the reply

We already have created control tables on db2 v9.5 . However now the problem is now with range partitioned tables. Replication from this type of table is not supported.

My concern is with the capture v 9.7 (running under different instance) , can we use the old v 9.5 control tables.

Do we have create new set of control tables ?

Let me know if more details are needed or unclear. Thanks again.

capture must be at same level as db - also control tables for capture
apply can be of any level running on any machine with that level - as long as apply can connect to any db (source-control-target)
