What does the term "business object" represent in database parlance?
Here is the context of my question. I was asking one of my company's employees (purportedly a data center guy) about archival. He asked me this question:
"Is data to be archived at the business object level or the table level?"I told him data needs to be archived so it can be restored into a database of the same product (e.g. I'm backing up an Oracle 11g database and I might later need to restore the archived records into another Oracle 11g installation, recreating the database).
Pardon the naivete of the question; I'm not a db guy....
