Post Unanswered: Conversion of decimal/numeric value into EBCDIC packed decimal format in Oracle

    Hi Members,

Actually I am generating one extract file from oracle which will be send to mainframe. Therefore I need to convert numeric value coming from oracle into EBCDIC packed decimal format which is readable to mainframe. I am able to convert the ascii field value to EBCDIC format but not able to convert into EBCDIC packed decimal format in Oracle as follows-

    convert(numeric value, 'WE8EBCDIC500','US7ASCII')

Please suggest me how can I convert the numeric values into EBCDIC packed decimal format through Oracle.

    Rgds,
    PKD

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
